Drinking water approvals:
Although there are several European directives related to materials in contact with drinking water that are applicable in all EU countries, the Member States of the European Union can include additional requirements (e.g. regulate additional substances) that are relevant within their territory or set higher standards.
In practice, this means that in any case, national legislation needs to be checked to decide if a product is sufficiently certified to be in contact with drinking water.
